Release Information of bestIMAGE 64 Bit Edition Patch 5.90/06

New CAD features:

Add "knock out" plugin to do a "remove overlay" and create a defined gap between the non-overlayed separations.
Function "knock out" can be invoked via command line to integrate into an automation workflow (/koxp or /koyp).
Separation name size limit extended to 64 characters (was 20 only).
Import command line option (for automation workflows) can now automatically assign predefined production calibration settings base on separation name extensions (for example Pantone 2345_C would get calibration "Material_C" assigned if command line was Arion.exe /c /calibration Material_* /customer Test).
All command line options can be displayed via "Arion ?" or "Arion -h".

New CAM features:

Support of new CAM device Yttrium LEX891x.
Automatic filling of "empty objects" on canvas area is now also supported for finite mode with inverted output mode and the repositioning of objects is also allowed after filling with empty objects.

Solved CAD Bugs:

Depending on current windows UI culture the decimal separator ("." or ",") will be displayed through the whole bestIMAGE software.
Framing of quick mask had problems in rare cases and these have now been fixed.
The default size of plugin preview is now correct initialized for high resolution monitor (4k monitors).
The embedded package tab inside "color info" in the print menu no longer shifts during switching from engraving mode to coloring mode or vice versa.
For high resolution monitors the loading of all bitmaps inside multiply plugin with squared files is now working correctly.

Solved CAM Bugs:

Saving and loading of jobs on RotaMesh retainer systems works without errors.
Exchange output file or create a job with job wizard with invalid file (file with alpha mask or file with no speparations) shows a more detailed error message.
Update the min and max values of "Circumference" and "Print form length" input in job option after changing of retainer settings.
Canvas overview, output preview and engraving output for PDF files, LEN files and TIF files with given start offset in X and Y direction, drop and output width/height has been adapted to that of LYR files.
Loading jobs whose name contain whitespaces at the beginning or end is now possible.
Saving jobs with whitespaces at the beginning or end of the name is no longer possible.
Laser power supply activation for variLEX in IR or UV mode is now working correctly again and without any feedback errors.
Printform hoovering activation will be saved into machine settings file and is now possible again.
The "warmup time" for Omicron laser sources (Phoxx/Luxx laser) will be displayed in percent.
The incorrect comma separator is replaced by the correct one during writing to the engraving logging database.
Several improvements for a better user handling during multi-selection of canvas objects.
Copying of inlay object data from one object to another with mode "Append" is now working without overwriting old inlay data.
Errors are only evaluated and displayed after a complete and stable connection to the PLC.
Saving and reading jobs and device settings should now work correctly for devices set in languages with "," as floating number separator.

New CAM Features for service technicians:

LogFiles are saved now inside Logs subfolder of fixed data dir.
Move Industry standard 4.0, logging service and info service settings to a new settings page "logging and info service".

Solved CAM Bugs for service technicians:

Add a new device panel message instead of an error dialog if UART connection to Omicron laser is not possible (maybe not connected but COM port is selected in configuration settings).
In rare cases there were deadlocks inside the "rotation drive stop test" dialog after restarting the stop test and these now have been resolved.
Permanent AOM enable on LSU2 will be disabled if UCB deactivates the AOM enable.
Time and power adjustments are now depending on permanent or timer controlled laser and/or AOM enables on LSU2.
Current selected printform type for rotaMesh retainer will be invalidated if retainer settings are changed or resetted.
No changing of current UART layer if "Unchanged" is selected inside the channel page in CAMService tool.

It is recommended to make backups of this files before installation: InfoMgmtBE.db (maybe located on a shared server location)

Installation of Patch:

This Patch can only be applied on bestIMAGE 5.90/01, 5.90/02, 5.90.03, 5.90.04 or 5.90.05!
Download this file:

Update.exe
and double click on the downloaded file Update.exe.
This will start the Patch installation program which will guide you through the installation.
You have to close bestIMAGE before launching Update.exe.

The setup only was successful if you read a success message at the end of the installation !

If the installation can not be completed successfully for any reason, you have to completely uninstall all bestIMAGE software and reinstall it, otherwise an unstable configuration might be the result.
Alternatively you may try to re-install the same patch again until it successfully completes.
